How to Avoid Fake Cryptocurrency Recovery Companies
A company that guarantees the return of stolen cryptocurrency, asks for your seed phrase, or tells you to pay more crypto before a frozen balance can be released is showing you a serious warning sign. A real technical review explains what the records can show and what they cannot. Before you engage anyone, compare the name they use with a published company record, and read the fee terms in writing. BNG SOFTWARE does not promise recovery and does not ask for a seed phrase for ordinary tracing.
What should you do if someone has already contacted you?
- Stop sending money, and stop sending documents that contain secrets.
- Do not install remote-access software because a caller is urgent.
- Keep the messages. They are part of the story of a possible second fraud.
- Compare any company name and address with records you can check yourself. For BNG SOFTWARE LIMITED, this site publishes Hong Kong company number 2781989, business registration number 70240191, and the Tsim Sha Tsui registered office. Particulars should be confirmed against official registry records.
- If you still want the original loss reviewed, use the assessment on this website and include transaction hashes, not a seed phrase.
Do not send a seed phrase, a private key, or a password.

Warning signs
A guarantee that the funds will come back
Blockchain analysis can reconstruct transactions and identify possible destinations. It cannot promise an outcome that depends on exchanges, custodians, lawyers, or authorities. A guarantee is a sales device, not a finding.
A request for the seed phrase, private key, or password
Ordinary tracing does not require them. A request for your recovery phrase is not a recovery technique. It is the theft.
A demand to install remote-access software
BNG SOFTWARE will not ask you to install AnyDesk or similar remote-access software as a condition of ordinary blockchain tracing. Treat such a demand from anyone as a reason to end the call.
A further crypto payment to unlock, insure, or release a balance
The frozen balance they describe is often a number on a screen they control. Sending more cryptocurrency does not release it. It funds the same operation a second time.
Pressure to pay before the scope and the fee are in writing
A legitimate engagement can wait long enough for you to read the terms. Urgency is the product being sold.
The shorter essay How to Recognize a Fake Cryptocurrency Recovery Company and the standing Anti-Scam Notice cover the same patterns in more detail.
What a documented engagement looks like instead
- Findings tied to transaction references.
- Limits written next to the findings, including which links are only candidates.
- A fee that is explained before work, including whether any success fee applies.
- No seed phrase, ever.
- A company identity you can compare with the Hong Kong register.

What BNG SOFTWARE states about its own sales
Four safeguards, published on the homepage and repeated here because they are the test you should apply to every firm, including this one:
- We never ask for your seed phrase. Your recovery phrase and private keys remain under your control.
- We do not require unsolicited remote access for ordinary blockchain tracing.
- We do not promise guaranteed recovery.
- The scope, applicable fees, and success conditions are documented before engagement.
Situations this page is meant to help
If you only want to understand the path
A trace for peace of mind is still a contract. It should say what you will receive, what it will cost or how the fee is decided, and that nobody needs your private key. See Where Does Stolen Cryptocurrency Go?
If a client is being coached by a recovery agent
Lawyers: ask to see the messages before anyone pays. This page is written so it can be sent to a client. It is not legal advice.
Companies after an incident
Finance teams also meet fake invoices and people claiming to be the investigator, the exchange, or the insurer. Confirm the channel on a known website before paying. BNG's published contact path is the assessment form and info@bngsoftware.ai, and the company will not ask for a seed phrase by email.
Frequently asked questions
Is cryptocurrency recovery always a scam?
No. Tracing and reporting are real technical work. The scam is the promise of a certain return, the request for secrets, or the extra payment to release funds. Treat those behaviours as the test, not the mere fact that a company offers an investigation.
You charge a success fee. How is that different?
For a qualifying investigation, the indicative fee is around 12% of the qualifying recovered amount, payable only if the signed recovery condition is met. It is not a demand to send cryptocurrency to unlock a balance. Other scopes are priced in writing.
Can a scammer use your company name?
They can copy a name. Check the domain bngsoftware.ai, the Hong Kong company number 2781989, and the published email. Be careful with lookalike domains and with people who refuse to use the published form.
Should I give a recovery agent my exchange password so they can see the freeze?
No. A freeze, if it exists, is confirmed through a channel you can trust, not by handing over a password.
What if I already paid a fake recovery company?
Preserve the new transaction records and the messages. That second payment can be reviewed as its own set of transfers. It does not improve the odds by itself, and you should not send a further fee to the same people to get the first fee back.
