How Much Does a Cryptocurrency Investigation Cost?
There is no single public price for every cryptocurrency investigation, because the work is scoped. For a qualifying recovery investigation, BNG SOFTWARE may charge no upfront forensic-report fee. The indicative success fee is around 12% of the qualifying recovered amount, and it is payable only if the recovery condition in the signed agreement is met. A limited trace, a feasibility review, and institutional work are priced in writing for that scope. Lawyer fees and other third-party costs are separate. No recovery is guaranteed.
What would a private recovery engagement cost if it qualifies?
For a qualifying cryptocurrency recovery investigation, the company may offer an arrangement with no upfront forensic-report fee. The fee becomes payable only if the recovery condition in the signed agreement is met. The indicative success fee is around 12% of the qualifying recovered amount, subject to that agreement and to the facts of the case. In practice that means:
- You should see the eligibility conditions before you sign.
- Partial recoveries are treated as the agreement describes.
- A freeze or a hold is not a recovery unless the agreement says it is.
- The fee window can run for five years from the date both sides accept the investigation.
- Third-party costs are not added unless they were disclosed and agreed first.
Do not send a seed phrase, a private key, or a password.
Request a Confidential Case Assessment so the company can say whether a qualifying arrangement even fits. This form is not a quote calculator.
What if you only want a feasibility view, or a trace for your own understanding?
That is a different scope from a qualifying recovery investigation. It is not automatically free, and it is not automatically on the 12% arrangement. The company confirms the scope and the fee in writing before that work starts. A peace-of-mind reader should not be pushed into a success-fee story they did not ask for.
How are fund and company investigations charged?
Institutional tracing, incident timelines, and any smart-contract review are proposed for the scope. They are not assumed to be the consumer-style qualifying arrangement. A fund should expect a written proposal, confidentiality terms, and a separation between BNG fees and any counsel or custodian costs.
What the 12% is attached to
It is attached to the qualifying recovered amount, as the agreement defines that amount, and only when the recovery condition is met. It is an indicative figure, around 12%, and the signed agreement can set the exact treatment. It is not a marketing estimate of how much you will get back, and it is not a percentage of the amount you lost.
What you should have in writing before work starts
- The scope.
- Whether the qualifying arrangement applies.
- The recovery condition, if any.
- The fee and how partial amounts are treated.
- The monitoring period, if any.
- Any third-party cost.
The general terms are published on the Terms of Service page, and the commercial detail that binds the parties is the signed engagement agreement.
Costs that are not BNG invoices
Counsel, court fees, exchange processes, and any other adviser. If a lawyer is instructed, the client pays that lawyer under their own terms. Those fees are not the BNG success fee, and BNG does not add a legal fee on top and call it forensic work.
A fee demand that should stop the conversation
Anyone who asks for cryptocurrency to release a frozen balance, or for a seed phrase as a condition of a quote, is showing the pattern of a secondary recovery scam. See How to Avoid Fake Cryptocurrency Recovery Companies.
Frequently asked questions
Is the assessment a paid review?
The assessment is how the company determines the scope. Any fee for work after that is confirmed in writing before the work starts. A qualifying recovery investigation may have no upfront forensic-report fee.
Is 12% always the fee?
No. It is the indicative success fee for a qualifying recovery investigation, subject to the signed agreement. Other work is priced on its own scope.
Do I pay 12% if nothing comes back?
Under the qualifying arrangement, the forensic report fee becomes payable only if the contract's recovery condition is met. If that condition is not met, that fee is not payable. The agreement is the source of the exact rule.
Are lawyer fees included?
No. Fees you agree with a lawyer, including a Swiss lawyer, are separate from the BNG fee.
Why will you not publish a fixed menu?
A single hash and a multi-network fund hack are not the same assignment. A fixed menu would either overcharge the small matter or understate the large one. The written scope is the price control.
